These laws range from taxes and tariffs on gambling related items, to the provision of education about the risks associated with gambling related items. Many state governments have also taken steps to severely punish individuals and organizations who are involved in gambling and have included some gaming items in their public utilities. These include sales of vending machines that dispense gambling products, lottery tickets, card games, video poker machines, slot machines, etc.
