Santa Rosa – Redwood Regional Medical Group is pleased to announce that Dr. Laura Norton, Breast Surgeon, has recently joined their Practice. Dr. Norton graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. She continued at Indiana University to complete her internship and residency in General Surgery. She became a Vascular Surgery Research Fellow at Indiana University before becoming a Lois Rosen Fellow at John Wayne Cancer Institute, Saint John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica. This program is one of only a few dozen certified breast fellowships in the country. She trained with Dr. Armando Guliano, one of the major developers of the sentinel lymph node concept.
Dr. Norton will join Dr. Charles Elboim, Breast Surgeon and Director of the Redwood Breast Center, as well as Radiologists, Radiation and Medical Oncologists who make up the integrated breast care program at Redwood. Together they offer all options for breast cancer care right here in the North Bay.
“We are very pleased that we could attract a surgeon with Dr. Norton’s credentials to our Breast Team to add to the quality care we can provide our patients,” said Dr. Mark Popovich, President of Redwood. Dr. Norton’s office will be located at 121 Sotoyome Street in Santa Rosa, but she will also focus on offering her expertise to patients in southern Sonoma County and northern Marin County.
Dr. Norton adds, “I was drawn to the Breast Program at Redwood because of their team approach and the reputation they have for excellence in the medical community.” She is extensively published in medical journals and has made presentations at Regional and National Meetings.
